Blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, rain and little sun. Summer in 5 pictures!
I think the picture above summarises the 2019 summer on the Costiera dei Cech perfectly. But there have been many opportunities for new hiking and various “wild” harvesting.
Nature gives its fruits to those who have time and patience to go and collect them. Any use of means, other than one’s own hands, alters this balance and the consequences will be paid in the following years.
I have time, patience and two hands!
My raspberries collection:
- Day 1: wake up at 4 a.m., two hours walk to the right plants, return home … they are still green!
- Day 2: wake up at 4 a.m., two hours walk to the right plants, return home… they are still green… but maybe tomorrow…!
- Day 3: it’s raining!
- Day 4: wake up at 4 a.m., two hours walk to the right plants, the raspberries are ripe!
The brambles (blackberries bush) are the number one weeds, they grow everywhere and are difficult to uproot. To apologise for all this intrusiveness, these plants give us abundant fruits for the whole summer!
Welcome back my friend, it’s good to see you again this summer!
